Fred Thompson to take over O'Reilly's radio show.
« on: February 22, 2009, 12:14:22 AM »
Hope this is not a duplicate.

O'Reilly is getting out the radio business, his last broadcast being this Thursday.  There will, as usual, be a guest host on Friday.  Thompson takes over the following Monday, when the show will receive its new name - The Fred Thompson Show.

Westwood One said Monday that "The Fred Thompson Show" will debut March 2, replacing "The Radio Factor With Bill O'Reilly," which ends its six-year run February 27. O'Reilly announced his decision to step down from the show this month, saying the workload for his radio and TV duties had become too much.

Like I said, hope this isn't a dupe.  It's apparently old news, but something I've only gradually been informed of - only learned about the Fred Thompson take-over from a Wiki article.

And to satisfy the drive-by police, I think it is pretty aresome, because O'Reilly was an arrogant jerk, and not to my taste, politically.  Sadly, our local affiliate is putting Glenn Beck in that time slot, so I don't know if Fred's show will broadcast in my market.

This is good to hear.  I voted for Fred Thompson.  Though I do have a problem with the radio show's time slot, being that it is on during Rush.

Will he offer tips on how to nap your way to a losing primary bid?

No but he might tell us what it's like to be one of the only politicians who's life isn't driven by an unending lust for power.

Maybe not, but he might have some tips on how to be a Senator, lawyer, lobbyist, nationally-syndicated talk show host, well-known actor and nationally-known political figure.  Unless you've already done all of that, it might help you.

Just having fun with you, Balog.  His campaign was quite the disaster.

Awesome. I'm feeling sorry I don't have Fox.

I think you may be confusing O'Reilly's radio show with his TV show.  Thompson's getting the radio show only.

I guess Fred is OK, I think the RNC was insisting on losing.

Awesome. I'm feeling sorry I don't have Fox.

You can probably grab his show off of the internet or through Nexus Radio.
