Good flv player
« on: October 22, 2008, 12:03:29 AM »
What do you guys recommend for a good flv player. I had to rebuild buy laptop and I don't remember what I had before.
I needed a mod to change my signature because the concept of "family friendly" eludes me.
Just noticed that a mod changed my signature. How long ago was that?

VLC couldn't play FLV format video last time I checked.

H8 VLC, dunno why it's so popular.
Try the Core Media Player, can't remember if it does or not.

Sunday it felt a little better, but it was quite irritated from me rubbing it.

I watch all my FLV files with Media Player Classic.

If you're running Windows and want an idiot-proof codec pack, uninstall everything you have, reboot, and then install CCCP.  It's not quite as clean as getting all the individual codecs you need yourself, but it's simple and will open everything.  I mean, I could watch FLVs in Windows Media Player if I wanted to with this codec pack.

The version I have does, 0.8.6b

Another alternative is Media Player Classic with their huge hunka codec packs.

Both work, but I prefer VLC for most audio & video.

I love mplayer.

Ahh, mplayer.  What other tool can you script from the command line to loop a bunch of videos for X number of times.

...while remapping your sound channels, flipping the video upside down, making it negative, while simultaneously displaying all subtitles in rainbow colors?

I assumed the OP was interested in the usual MS Win gui-player, though, and overlooked mplayer, as I rarely invoke its GUI.
