Mtnbkr's Lard Pucks...

Mtnbkr made biscuits the other night and was kind enough to share them with me.
I've never seen a biscuit that literally oozed lard.
I've also never had a biscuit that has ever come anywhere close to being that good.
Who needs ice when you can play hocky with his patented lard pucks!

Only bested when combined with lard-fried chicken.
I miss you, Grandma...

I like them with a few (ok, a whole bunch) slices of bacon. Smother that in sausage gravy. Dial 9-1, and keep your finger on the 1 while you eat. mmm.

"slices of bacon"
Did I ever mention to you that I cure and smoke my own bacon?
Mtnbkr claims that he helps, isn't that right, Chris?

I provide moral support and I did help you build the first smoker.

Yes, you did help build that abomination of a smoker.
I really need to sit down and figure out a better design and then flat out build the thing.
I'm actually thinking something I can hang on the fence...

LMAO. That's how we eat my wife's country fried steak biscuits.

So I'm guessing that if MY pucks weren't oozing they must not have had enough lard...

I make biscuits using 1/3 ultralight homepressed sunflower oil, 2/3 butter.
Heresy never tasted so good.
That's interesting. Will regular storebought sunflower oil work or is there something different about the homepressed (consistency, etc)?

If you wrap the entire meal in a couple tortillas, you could deep-fat fry it into a nice portable sandwichey thing.
Mmmmmmmmm

OOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh God...
The meal I just had with Mtnbkr, his wife, and his daughter, aka felonious assault, would have been HEALTHIER had it been wrapped in burritos and deep fried...

At least the biscuits had less lard in them.
