Vinyl flooring question
« on: February 13, 2010, 12:20:23 AM »
We just had some vinyl flooring put down in our kitchen, half bath and hallway. It's Armstrong (don't know if that's good anymore or not), and it's a matte finish marble pattern.

We had the flooring laid on Wednesday, and there's already somewhat shiny marks from I don't know what. We've been very careful to pick up chairs and other things to move them, rather than slide them across the floor.

I'd really like the floor to look good when our realtor starts showing the house in two or three weeks.

Is there any way to protect this flooring, aside from just not going in the kitchen at all?

i believe armstrong is still a good name.   the best bet would be to contct who put it in, and see what they recomend.  i can't imagine it would be damaged if your furniture has the nylon glides on the bottom.

i have taped butchers paper to the walk areas of homes i have worked on.  use the easy release (usually blue) masking tape to hold it down.

good luck!

I know my question sounded stupid, but I also know that matte finishes--whether on guns or floors or anything else--are quick to show any marring.

I asked the question because I thought there might be a floor polish or other treatment for matte finishes that might mask the marks.

Two days of walking on the floor makes the flooring look two months old. At this rate, we'll need to have the flooring replaced by April 1. ;)

Put down a coat of mop and glow. Just watch because it might be a bit slick if your wearing socks.
I needed a mod to change my signature because the concept of "family friendly" eludes me.
Just noticed that a mod changed my signature. How long ago was that?

A gloss floor finish for a matte finish tile?

I used Mop and Glow when I had my studio. It trapped the dirt underneath the surface, and was really a nightmare to clean.
