hmm interesting, I googled key words like "Muslim Brotherhood Movement"
there is a lot more to it than I originally suspected, I bet they are in the USA too, just lower profile.
I've often wondered when they would go after gays in the USA, I know Islamonazis kill gays in the middle east. I guess they don't want the bad press they would get if they tried it here.
If the headline had been "gangs attack gays in Australia" it would have been all over the news.

Yeah, well, being here right now and in the midst of the "bikie gang war" frenzy, I think I might have a few insights...

1. The MBM is not a bikie gang.

2. Many of the bikie gangs are mixed race - ie, white Australians, lebanese, greeks, etc. They are decidedly not religious.

3. There are ethnic and race based gangs here just like in the US - Asian, Lebanese, Greek, and Italian.

4. The Lebanese gangs have leaders "turn religious" and quit the life all the time - they consider participating in the gang to be anti-religious, and going Muslim is their formal way of getting out of the gang, not into it.

Muslim is a religion folks, not a race. It's not a "muslim bikie gang" just because some Lebanese dudes are members.

And read on about what they plan to do in response....some states here have already banned motorcycle clubs and made it a crime for members to talk to each other.

The "they" in this case is misleading - there is a very large international organization by the name of Al Ikhwan Al Muslimeen (which means "the Brotherhood of the Muslims")...that is what is mostly meant in references to "the Muslim Brotherhood." The MBM isn't affiliated.

It's not clear in Auburn (a Sydney area neighborhood with excellent food) whether the MBM was actually a group, or a a slogan on a banner carried/chanted by an existing gang. But it any case, it is not a biker gang (or even known to be involved in racketeering.)

Some more context: King's Cross, where all these attacks occurred, is a major center for drug trafficking and seedy business. Not surprising that a gang is going around intimidating people there; that's where the money comes from.

There is mass hysteria here right now surrounding gangs, following a biker brawl that ended in death at the Sydney airport. There's a gang war going on that involves all races and modes of transport, and that, again, has nothing to do with religion.

It's important to note when reading these articles about the various gangs that the Police and Government giving the information are enacting laws that allow them to declare any group or organization illegal, which then makes it a crime for members to talk to each other in any capacity.
