Where can I find short little power cords?
« on: May 12, 2009, 10:12:17 AM »
Like these....

Preferably cheap, like the $1-2 they're worth. I just have a small forest of power bricks that need to be plugged in at my bedside and they're all taking up two outlets on my splitter, and I don't want to invest in the whole price of an Octo-squid/cat-o-nine-tails style surge protector.

I know I could build them from Lowe's/Home Despot parts and bulk cable, but it would again go over budget, and be time I'd just rather pay Indochinastan $.25 to spend making them...

I've checked DealExtreme and KaiDomain and struck out.
I promise not to duck.

Not seeing them online, but that doesn't mean they don't have them in the store if there is a location near you.

Those look great. I'll get those if I can't do better.

Anyone seen 6" ones?

And Jamis, I never need an excuse to go to HF.  =D

Ill soon be blaming your for the destruction of my bank account.

Yes, me too.  I don't know what I need a 1000ft of cat5 cable for... but I'm sure I'll figure something out.

Similar prices at my local Lowes. . .

AJ,
If you need to block together several strips, be careful about total load (amps), K?

It's two laptops, two cell phones, a bluetooth charger, an alarm clock, two table lamps, and sometimes a heating pad for Mrs. Dual.

My lamp with two 60 Watt incandescents is probably the biggest load on the whole thing. Her lamp is a compact fluorescent.

I was considering running it through my walls and making outlet connections throughout the house...  I have quite a few things that NEED to be done before I start on that project though.

Monoprice is heaven for cables.  I ordered all the HDMI and speaker cables I needed for my entertainment center rebuild for less than what a single HDMI cable would have cost me retail at Best Buy.

Oh, in that case, thumbs-up on the cat5e at Lowes.

I got FIOS about a month ago, so I recabled the whole house with new coax and ran cat5e everywhere while I was at it.
