A taxi driver was attacked and robbed early Saturday in the area of Brinkby Avenue and Lakeside Drive, the Reno Police Department reported.

Police said the taxi driver picked up two men in the ara of Arlington and California avenues and they asked to be taken to the area of Robinhood and Lakeside drives. When they got in the area of Brinkby Avenue and Lakeside Drive the larger of the two passengers, who was in the front seat, ripped the fare meter from the dash board and beat the driver, police said.
He then took the driver’s cash and both suspects fled on foot and were last seen heading east on Brinkby Avenue, police said. The loss was an unknown amount of cash and the meter, police said.
Police ask anyone with information about this case to call detectives at 334-2115 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
