Obama's House of Czars
« on: August 20, 2009, 10:31:27 PM »
This got posted on PJTV:

The video seems amusing, but then, as the Bard would have it: "some word there was, I would forget it fain; but oh, it presses to my memory."

"The TARP Czar, the former CEO of Fannie Mae oversees how TARP funds are spent".

I had to rewind it a few times, because I wasn't sure I heard it right. What kind of thought process would bring someone to make that hiring choice?

What is it with calling them Czars? I'd never heard this before until Obama.

To me, the cranking on mine is pretty effortless, at least on the coarse setting. Maybe if someone has arthritis or something, it would be more difficult for them." - Ben

The term Czar has been around since the Reagan era, just not the numbers we now a days. There was a Drug Czar during Reagan.

Nixon had an energy czar, according to google.  This is not new.

Russia used to have Czars, too. I'd be hard-pressed to tell you which were worse: the Czars or the commisars.

Falco didn't write a song about the czars....

Impressed yet befogged, they grasped at his vivid leading phrases, seeing only their surface meaning, and missing the deeper current of his thought.

It's been around since Nixon (at least, this is going before my time....)

But as I understand it they did not receive the same power as Obamas, and certainly not near the number of them.

Personally, I think they should be booted out.  The Senate should be reviewing and confirming anyone who will be running things.
That is all. *expletive deleted*ck you all, eat *expletive deleted*it, and die in a fire. I have considered writing here a long parting section dedicated to each poster, but I have decided, at length, against it. *expletive deleted*ck you all and Hail Satan.
