NC Senator Shoots Intruder

Just saw this on Yahoo News. NC Senator Shoots Intruder
Quote
TABOR CITY, N.C. – A sheriff says North Carolina's longest serving state lawmaker has shot one of two intruders who kicked in the front door of his home.

Columbus County Sheriff Chris Batten tells The Star-News of Wilmington that 74-year-old state Sen. R.C. Soles shot the man who was taken to a hospital.

The sheriff's office referred a call from The Associated Press to the State Bureau of Investigation. An SBI spokeswoman did not immediately return a call.

The SBI is investigating a man's claim that Soles tried to fondle him more than a decade ago when the man was a teenager. The accuser later said he made up the story. Soles has not been charged and denies the accusation.

Calls to a number listed for Soles' Tabor City home went unanswered. Soles has been in the General Assembly for 40 years.

I hope this doesn't become some twisted story by the rest of the media but it looks like a clean case of self defense by a state senator no less.

About the only pro-gun bill he voted in favor of was to allow DAs/Asst DAs to carry in the courthouse.  http://www.ncleg.net/gascripts/voteHistory/MemberVoteHistory.pl?sSession=2009&nMMUserID=42&sChamber=S

It is unpossible for this man to have possessed a gun, let alone to have used it to shoot an intruder.  He's a Democrat, fer GHawd's sake!

Or if it is true, then he needs to be reported to The Central Committee Obama/ Pelosi/Reid.

stay safe.

If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Hey you kids!! Get off my lawn!!!

They keep making this eternal vigilance thing harder and harder.  Protecting the 2nd amendment is like playing PACMAN - there's no pause button so you can go to the bathroom.

A number of gun hating democrats own guns, they're special people you see unlike us little people. That said, I have no idea of this guys political views so maybe he isn't pro gun control.

A few minutes of Google-fu says he's about as anti-gun as they get.

A plan is just a list of things that doesn't happen.
Is defenestration possible through the overton window?

Most of his ilk are vile hypocrites. Wonder if this will convince him of the error of his ways or entrench them more firmly.

That's probably what's going to happen.  I was piqued that this happened to a Democratic Senator and was about to say see some Democrats believe in the RKBA and can be allies but then bedlamite has to go and show us he an anti.
Damn it! . . .

I don't know, it looks like the good Senator has an army of skeletons in the closet that just might be starting to rattle.  Purchasing homes for and giving money to male clients.  http://www.wwaytv3.com/news_tags/sen_rc_soles_0
