New game for APS
« on: August 29, 2009, 07:07:24 AM »
It is named, "Guess That Thread!"

Rules:

1. Pick a thread that is at least three (3) [III] pages in length.
2. Go to the last post in that thread and read it.
3. Make your best guess as to the orginal thread subject.
4. For the bonus round, guess the degrees of seperation between the orginal thread subject and the last post in that thread.

For example, the last post I read was about what a great idea it is to mix a giant rum and coke drink in a Cameback.  The original thread subject was about a photo of an Aim-7 air-to-air missle about to hit it's target.

I utterly failed trying to figure out how the thread veered that way in two pages. And it only took 3 degrees of Kevin Bacon seperation to get there.

Next contestant, come on down!   =D

Not to get this thread too off topic, but is there a reason that:

A) I keep getting a window that prompts me to "enter user name and password for http://www.seebritain2005.com"? and

B) There's nowhere on this website that will allow me to post an original topic; this, or example, I  have to interrupt someone else's thread to get the message out?

It's your fault.

No, seriously.

You're avatar links to http://www.seabritain2005.com/tserver.php?f=RAF-Spitfire.jpg&w=370

This server now requires authentication... So by having an avatar that links to it, we get a pop up for authentication every time someone tries to view one of your posts.

Actually, this is annoying the heck out of me - so I changed it to no avatar.

The lesson to be learned here is one shouldn't hotlink... especially something with as much hits as an avatar picture.

Or hotlink to a server that's reputable.

(My own avatar is linked to my webhosting service, under my own domain name...)

True, and I should have noted that - hotlinking to space that you have permission to use is different from using a random image on a random server.

Photobucket.com offers free accounts that you can use to this end.

Oh, great. So what you're saying is that since the website that hosts(hosted) my avatar now requires a username/password combo, everybody's been getting that annoying little pop-up?

Folks, I can't tell you how sorry I am for that.
