Do the anti's have to take over the comics, too?
« on: September 05, 2009, 01:18:43 AM »
I enjoy reading the comics, although I seldom find anything funny. Mother Goose and Grimm occasionally is good for a grin, but rarely more than that.

When this cartoon appeared, I let it go:

But then there was this one:

Then this:

Followed by this:

And then today's:

Is there nowhere to go to escape the anti's?

I hear the weather's great on Mars this time of year.

Definitely seems like the author has an axe to grind.
Look, tiny text!

There they go again trying to promote the false belief that carrying guns will result in a "wild wild west" atmosphere.

Independent web comics are the way to go.  Yeah, there's a lot of junk out there to  skim through, but there are gems.

www.xkcd.com

I find web comics way more entertaining then the syndicated ones anyway.

Not too mention there they go acting as if the only "danger" anyone will run into is furry little forest creatures. Which I guess is why rangers in Yosemite wear body armor and have selective fire rifles.

The rangers wear body armor and have selective fire rifles? Isn't that a bit of an overkill?
I mean, it's not as if a nice place like Yosemite ever had a serial killer on the loose or anything.

I guess the implication, as usual, is that people who carry concealed start shooting wildly at anything that moves once they get into a national park.  Isn't that a tired story by now?

Before "Mother Goose & Grimm" Mike Peters was, and is, an editorial cartoonist.  Left-leaning, yes, but never one to let ideology prevent him from skewering the self-important.
