Disney buys Marvel

I wonder if the Punisher will be making an appearance on Hannah Montana? What a strange world we live in...

Almost immediately, for instance, Marvel characters will pop up at Disney’s theme parks in Paris, Hong Kong and Orlando, Fla. Disney’s cable television channels will showcase Marvel, while consumer products could be an enormous area of growth, particularly overseas where the comics company has struggled to make inroads.

i gather the movie making money from Spiderman/Xmen/Hulk was tempting

I hope Stan Lee is properly rewarded

Oh jeez, this means they're gonna screw up Iron Man, now.

GREAAAAAAAAT....
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

So when does Ragdoll Limited (owners of Tele-tubbies) make a purchase on the Alien/Predator franchise?

The disconnect between Marvel and Disney franchises is a pretty big chasm.  Lots of parents with 4-8 year old kids that don't want them exposed to X-Men during the family vacation to Disneyland.

Disney also owns Miramax.  The same Miramax responsible for Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill I and II, No Country for old Men, and many other non-Disney-like movies.

Playing up the Marvel angle at theme parks is kind of odd, though.

Disney screwed up Pooh.  Oh yes, it sells a lot more units, but they've taken all the prickliness out of the characters--they're no different than the other Stepford Disnoids.  A happier Eeyore is more than I can stomach.

And yet another franchise falls to the Disney Doom of "limited release from the Disney Vault!"

I did like what Disney did with Pirates of the Caribbean, though.  There is potential for good, here... small as it may be.
