Grown Up Soda
« on: October 18, 2009, 09:48:43 AM »
I found this at Ukrops last night: http://www.drinkgus.com/

I tried the "Dry Cola" version.  It's pretty good.  Real sugar, no HFCS, not syrupy sweet, just sweet enough to enhance the flavor.  It has only 95 calories per bottle (a normal cola would be nearly 200 for that size).

i enjoy the "fizzy lizzy" brand, no added sugars.  just fruit juice and carbonation.   the pinapple tastes as sweet as regular soda, but the cranberry is my favorite.  beyond dry.

I thought this was gonna be about barley pop. =D
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

And here I thought Gin and Tonic was the grown up soda. I even use diet tonic water to cut the calories but why they insist on putting artificial sweetener into my bitter tonic remains a mystery.

This grown up soda sounds good, especially the dry cola and spicy ginger ale. I love a spicy burns-my-throat ginger ale. I will buy the occasional cane sugar Coca-Cola whenever I go to our local authentic taqueria figuring that the extra 100 calories won't hurt ya, and it lasts longer than a candy bar. I'll try a GUS if I ever come across a 4 pack.

I always liked the premium root beers.  Thomas Kemper is my favorite: http://www.tksoda.com/
