'09 Pumpkin carvings thread
« on: October 31, 2009, 11:04:41 PM »
I didn't see another thread for carvings.. so lets see the pictures...

As soon as I can convert the HD video to something smaller I"ll post the flaming skull pumpkin
I took a roll of TP and soaked it in kerosene overnight.  It produced a 3foot flame that lasts about 30-45minutes

edited to add this link.. where I got the idea they have a video of it too.  pyrotechnic pumpkin

you can't really see the detail in the carving in this image.. but gives you an idea as to the flame it produced.
And yes it last about 25minutes then calmed down to about a foot tall which lingered for another 10-15minutes

I'll post a picture tomorrow of the aftermath..  That particular carving was drying out and deforming a bit early as it was, I carved it Friday night.

well I haven't figured out a way to rotate the source video.. but uploading the raw .mts file to youtube took care of the conversion process.
Looks like I'm going to have to play with VirtualDub to rotate it.  in the meantime here are the results.

Note to self.

Roll of toliet paper in pumpkin for next year.....
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

That is the most badass Halloween picture anyone's ever taken of their (grand)kids.  =D

didn't bother taking pictures this year because I was annoyed. Bought a new kit and they must have started making the damn saws out of tin foil.

Used to have zero problem and great results with the store bought kits, this year the damn things were junk before the first carving was through. Ended up rethinking the patterns and just making something simple. Didn't look liek crap but I wasn't happy either.
That is all. *expletive deleted*ck you all, eat *expletive deleted*it, and die in a fire. I have considered writing here a long parting section dedicated to each poster, but I have decided, at length, against it. *expletive deleted*ck you all and Hail Satan.

I remember one time we ran across one in one of the earlier maps that would not die.
We shot it with the rocket launcher, double barrel, chaingun and even the BFG.

And by we I mean the whole family.  Doom was a family pass-time back in those days.

Sunday it felt a little better, but it was quite irritated from me rubbing it.
