Firefly, Best Buy, 13.99
« on: November 28, 2009, 02:21:40 PM »
Thought folk might want to know.

Wife bought a box for my sister and BIL.  He's a sci-fi geek.  Now to find out if he's the right kind.  Remember, we anarchist/libertarian Firefly fans respect everyone's choice to live their lives as they see fit.  Unless they reject our chosen form of entertainment, that is.   =)

While we're on the subject, was Mr. Universe just a little too convenient?  I mean, how is it they just happen to know the Matt Drudge of the 26th century?

i think he fit, becuase he was someone they would know. Mal and company do need someone like that around even without an operative after River.

I bet they either sold information to or bought information from him in the past.

I tried watching the first episode of Firefly, the goofy props and special effects that were obviously just dressed up normal stuff made me laugh and turn it off.  I'm sure it's got a good plot, but to me it's like the original Star Trek series; the special effects and props just prevent me from taking it seriously enough to watch.

How dare you, Ragnar?!?!?  Blasphemy, blasphemy!  Get out the Banschwerk!

You of course mean the thermonuclear Banschwerk. It's the only way to be sure...

Can't we just kick him into the intake?

What was I thinking?  Of course we can; a much more elegant and appropriate solution.

That's pretty much what I figure: he's got a renegade comm center, so he's the perfect pipeline for jobs, and probably enjoys watching the news coverage (and hacked security footage) as the jobs he passes along are carried out.

I still, to this day, harbor deep seated resentment, and a large grudge at Fox for cancelling that show.

I just can't watch any new series on that network, from fear it will be cancelled just as it's getting good.

Interesting. Now I see what you people mean when you say that it takes more than one episode to get used to it. Just watched 4 of 'em on Hulu. Entertaining show for sure.
