I've got a lunatic fringe friend that had a Pinto with about 400+ horses under the hood.

I remember a lot of guys souping up Pintos. Seemed strange, but I guess they were suitable for it.

I knew a guy named Brian that had a souped-up NEON.  No kidding, a NEON!  The best part was his license plate: B-RIDE.   =|

I don't know anyone that owns a Neon racer, but I see plenty of them.  I understand there are a lot of aftermarket add-ons for them.  Something funny I've noticed with the kid racers around here is that most of the Civics and other popular Japanese cars have disappeared, while really crappy looking, half-primered, fart-canned Sunfires, Cavaliers, Escorts, and Focii have been showing up everywhere.

If I ever get too much cash I want to put about 600+ hp and a real suspension and tires under a K-car. Of course, the paint and peeling vinyl roof would have to stay original.

I could use that 4x4 Mustang right about now.

Madison is at 16 inches of snow and it's still coming down.

I came inside to warm up for a few minutes, my 20hp Bolens tractor and snowblower are barely making a dent in the thick wet stuff piled up in the driveway.  I'd just high-center my Jeep today, especially where the county plowed a huge berm right at the approach to the driveway.   =|

I don't know if it's still in production or not, but Dodge had one flavor of Neon that had about as much power per litre or per pound of weight (can't recall which) as the Viper.  It was apparently quite sporty.

Edit, it's no longer in production.  It was the SRT-4: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Neon_SRT-4
