The other belief to be reinforced is these whackjobs need to believe the interior of an airplane is very dangerous to them and their ilk.  They need to come to understand their very lives are in danger should they pull something stupid.  They need to expect plane passengers will simply not tolerate crotch bombing and Flying Imam stunts.  The operative term here is "passengers" not "government" or not "companies".  Our government's actions have become entirely too predictable.  We need a healthy does of unpredictability in the form of a cabin of outraged and p*ssed of passengers.

I agree 100 percent.

And that leaves me feeling very sad, because I am fully aware that there must have been a bunch of Americans on that plane, but the would-be Jihadist was tackled by a (pardon the pun) flying Dutchman (literally).

How do you know for a fact that there weren't 'Merkins making a move when the Flying Dutchman beat them to the intercept?

If merkins were making a move, I guess we've already gone to flying naked...

I want Americans to be braver and faster than Europeans. :P

I'm about ready to fly back to Texas with a load of exposed film. I'm thinking of shipping it back ahead of me, rather than take the risk of the TSA goons ruining it.

"What's 'film'? Why doesn't this camera have a screen on the back; is it real? Why can't I open these boxes again? Why do they say "DO NOT OPEN EXCEPT IN TOTAL DARKNESS"?"
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

I went through TSA the week before Christmas.  They had signs posted offering hand inspection of film.

According to the TSA, film below ISO 800 is safe in the xray.

Well, they should know - I mean, you can trust them on everything else, right ?

I find your lack of faith to be disturbing. Do not question the almighty TSA comrade! :police:

Oh, that's just what I want. I'd rather take my chances with the x-ray machine.
