He shows it transitioning from hover to forward flight more than once.  Pretty darn cool.

wow!  whats the learning curve like on one of those?
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

Sweet!

Miniaturized rotor swashplates in nacelles and rotor nosecones for cyclic, full-span flaps, very nice!

Hope he sells the plans or kits...   :O

Very impressive!   I wonder what RPM's those rotors are running at...

Also...   Need to mount a camera and/or nose turret on it.   =D

So from the high-pitched sound, those engines weren't teeny tiny little turbines, were they?

Electric, I am guessing?  I wonder what kind of batteries?  They must have a heck of a power density.  I was waiting for him to drop the gear at the last, and found myself disappointed when he just landed it on its belly.  I suppose there is no room for gear as all the internal space is taken up by radio gear, servos and batteries.
Still, it has a very large cool factor.  Sweet.

Sounds and looks like a turbine-power model to me. It's louder than the real thing, and the thrust-to-weight ratio is obviously pretty high. It also seems to accelerate more quickly than the 50,000-lb Osprey does using very little nacelle tilt. Also, the props are much less twisted than the real thing. But what a marvelous job on the flight controls!

I'm assuming the entire body is foam, which would explain the rather zippy power/weight ratio.
I promise not to duck.

Batteries are lithium polymer, power system is brushless electric motors with reduction boxes, stability is handled by two gyros, the body is styrofoam with a carbon fiber skeleton, this is pretty standard stuff for R/C. Most of the time landing gear is left off to save weight. I don't remember which motor and gearset he was using, but 40K-50K rpm is easy to get out of a brushless motor. He posted this over on RCgroups.com a while back, and it's supposed to be available as a kit later this year.

Update:

Hi guys. I am happy to tell everyone that the kit is coming along nicely.  I have a company in china that is working hard to make this happen. The ship is a dream to fly and the entire design is based on simplicity.  In reality it is no more complicated than a 450. Yea its got two rotors but no flybar or tailrotor.  Only has 6 servos total.  The trick is in a custom electronic controller.  If you look at my latest youtube vid you can see how well it flys. This isnt me doing lots of stick work. You can take your hands off at any time. Even during a conversion.  Anyway trying to keep the ship below 1k.  It should come with about everything, ARF type with a nice fiberglass painted body by mid year. You will need to supply your TX and RX, Just standard 7 channel helicopter radio.  As far as set up goes its not complicated.  Just like setting up one main rotor twice and you dont have to mess with setting up the tail... also not any more complicated than a 450.  Save your pennys.  Its will be worth it.

FYI: 450 refers to a standard electric helicopter size.

A plan is just a list of things that doesn't happen.
Is defenestration possible through the overton window?

mmm....   Might be able to build a better body.  Composites and honeycombed titanium, maybe.  Hrm.

You know...  When it's in hover mode...   It has ALL of that wing space for missile racks...

Does he have any control over it in hover mode other than the throttle?
