how the mighty have fallen
« on: January 30, 2010, 07:17:51 PM »
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

Doesn't bother me a bit. I'm so sick of corrupt unions running the state. The Black Lake thing is only a high visibility example of union excess, and they have plenty of scandalous actions which just don't make the news.

Obama fired the CEO of GM, and to be fair (yeah right) he should have fired Hoffa as well.
Personally, I do not understand how a bunch of people demanding a bigger govt can call themselves anarchist.
I meet lots of folks like this, claim to be anarchist but really they're just liberals with pierced genitals. - gunsmith

I thought we were talking about Obama's job approval rating.

My understanding of the situation is probably too limited, but it seems to me that the following sequence has occurred:

1) The Democrats passed laws giving more power to the unions

2) The Detroit auto companies went bankrupt because of the burden of excessive retirement benefits and "cadillac" insurance for the retired workers

3) The Democrats have taken control, to some extent, of the companies that they caused to go bankrupt in the first place

Am I close, or way off base ?

Well...that and short-sighted profit taking by all of them.  I'd tend to lay 95% of the blame on unions and 5% on leadership.
Sadly, I still don't think most of the folks in Michigan "get it". Kinda like an HIV positive IV drug user cursing his "bad luck".

I think the link in the OP is my "feel good" post of the day.   =D

(It should be mailed to every UAW worker so they'd know what their dues have been paying for.)
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.
