I got a collection notice in the mail this morning. It's from some outfit call ALW Sourcing out of Baltimore, though their mail PO box is in Trenton. It's for an account I never had from a business I've never heard of. Heck, the only derogatory on my credit report is a single late pay from three years ago (friggin Capital One accidently misplaced my check... for two weeks). It's so completely bogus it's not even funny.
I went to all the trouble to take copies of the notice to the FBI, the USPS Inspector, the Tx Attorney General, and to file a complaint on the FTC web site. Any other suggestions for nasty-gramming them? I'm also sending the obligatory C&D letter (delivery confirmation, of course).
Anyone else gotten a bogus collection letter from these yo-yo's? Their web site sounds so touchy-feely. Good luck getting hold of them, too. The 888 number on the notice and on their web site kicks you to a voicemail that's full (Yes, full. As in "Sorry you can't leave a message because this voicemail box is full" full). They have a toll number buried down deep in their web site. I tried it and got the voice mail of the guy shown to be the "Executive Director". Wow, he answers phone calls directly! I'm just brimming with hope that he'll return the call. Not. Feels like a one-horse scam operation to me.
