I Admire Awesome Talent
« on: April 15, 2010, 07:58:25 PM »
Like this guy has. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSxVO3EoCRM

He's so far beyond what's required of a traffic cop, or a test pilot, or a one-armed paper hanger I can't believe it!

First thought: an organ? You've got to be kidding me...  ;/

After having watched that...  :O

Absolutely amazing.

Victor Borge has always been one of my favorite artists.

This is one reason why:

here's another:

But yeah, that guy was absolutely amazing.

I bet his performance of Bach's Toccata and Fugue  in D minor is epic.

I've always thought organ-players were awesome. They narrowly beat out good harpsichord players.

No cringeworthy puns yet?
Okay, I'll start.

He fingers his organ well.

(Thank you. Thank you.  You're a great crowd.  I'll be here all week.  Try the veal!)

Wow, really scary music too! I had to hide under my desk about half way through! :O

I thought the stops moving in and out all by themselves was fascinating. I wonder what actuates them in set patterns like that. I got to see the workings for one including inside the airbox. Intricate stuff. The one I saw is puny compared to this one. Must be something to hear live.

I also wonder if Bach ever played that particular organ. I once applied as an apprentice to an organ repair company. Being both a mechanic and a musician lent themselves well to the idea. Alas, one must be a teeny effer to get into some of the places you have to get into for that job and I'm not all that teeny.  =|

Other than all that, awesome, thanks!

they have preset buttons (some are hit with the foot) that will change all the stops to prearranged sounds.
