« on: May 07, 2010, 02:13:05 PM »

According to Sheriff Tony Lippa, there was a black bear sighting in the area of Chance Place and Bull Church Road in the area of Madison Elementary School this morning.

The Madison Elementary principal, the game warden and the school board office have been notified. The kids at that school are being locked in the school as a precaution, Lippa said.

The  sighting occured at 11:30 a.m. If there are any more sightings, call the Sheriff’s Office at 804/633-5400

Whew, for a minute there I was worried that some vile child might have pointed his or her finger like a gun!
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Very true.

There's been a pedo stalking the West Allis West Milwaukee School District the past few days. First he tried offering a ride to a Jr. High School girl walking to the school near my house, and tried to engage her in sexually explicit conversation.

She wisely went up to the first house she saw and went up on the front porch like she was going to go inside.

Two days later he was sighted "chasing after his dog" in the park that abuts my daughter's grade school on the other end of town.

I'd take the bear any day too.
I promise not to duck.

Hope AJ is doing something about it, involving open carry and lots of dog walks and/or frisbee/basketball/"catch" at the park with his kid.

Considering he has like 14 kids all the same age it probably gets a bit tough to be all vigilante. :P

But yeah, I agree with do-it-yourself not waiting and hoping on the cops.

All the WA/WM schools sent home letters and everybody is being vigilant. Unfortunately my work hours begin and end well before and after my kids go to school.

Although two being in 5k and two in 4k, it's a pretty much Car -> Door then reversed Door -> Car kind of an affair. We picked a school in our district, but on the other end of our burb, so Mrs. Dual does all the driving and they're never unaccompanied.

And an open carry show of force is somewhat blunted by the whole guns/schools-thing these days. WI has a 1000 foot rule, with exceptions for residents, traveling/passing through etc. but not "scaring pedophiles".

I'm about 110% certain I'd become a bigger issue than the predator in very short order.  ;/

Ah, the classic gun free zone. I'm so glad criminals are courteous enough to not break the law in them.  ;/

As we know from our previous thread, all pedos carry cameras and overtly take pictures of children. That should make him easy to spot.
