one more from my friend

The sacrifices chairman Obama makes for us little folk (little peoples) are great. I shudder to think of the mental and emotional stress he endures as he reaches out to rich fat cats who got rich on Wall Street, Oil, Health Care, and other capitalist pig endeavors.

The latest assault to his sensibilities that Obama endured was a whirlwind tour in the Bay area to raise money for comrade Boxer's re-election campaign.

All in all, the contributors got a great deal. Each paid $17,600.00 to share a humble meal of eggs (fowl and fish eggs), ribs (we all know ribs are low country food), and cherries. It was a simple meal much like that of every other ordinary American would eat. But, you can tell in the pictures that Obama participated with a troubled brow. All the time you can tell that he was thinking of the flood in Tennessee and the oil spill in the Gulf and all those impacted.

When you get right down to it, this is all the fault of Republicans. The devious nature of Republicans forces our new Democratic Party USA comrades to take these drastic actions. It is sickening and troubling. It's just more of George Bush failures.

It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

Really?  That seems like kind of an odd meal.  Am I missing something, or are they just unhinged?

How many times has he visited the Gulf Coast in the last 37 days?  At least GWB flew over it when Katrina hit!  Or is Boxer not getting re elected a bigger tragedy that needs his attention?

I guess not.

I heard the other day that the HW was getting hammered for exactly this lack of LA concern.
Since Barry Obama was out west eating at this little event, the news media was beating the drum that he should have gone south.

At least the CA meal could have been good BBQ.

I guess that that is too much to ask for $18K.

Diners were treated to quail egg with caviar and salmon ceviche with jicama and avocado on a tortilla chip
as their starting hors d'oeuvres. Next they were served a spring onion-asparagus tartlet with Meyer lemon vinaigrette-dressed frisee salad. The main course was braised Kobe beef short ribs with potato puree and a salsa verde-topped spring vegetable ragout. And the evening was topped off with buckwheat crepes with roasted cherries and almond ice cream.

It sounds tasty to me.  Not 17k tasty though.

To be fair, both sides do this.  I ended up at a Republican fundraiser in St Louis in 2001 (someone else bought my $1200 ticket) one night, and they were giving the opportunity to talk to and have your picture taken with Dick Cheney as long as you made a very sizable (meaning 5 figure) donation.

This system is broken.  I remember in one of my poli-sci classes learning that the most reliable indicator of a candidates success is the amount of money they spend on their campaign.
