Why would SQL Server 2005 suddenly appear on my computer?
« on: June 13, 2010, 12:47:17 AM »
I got a bunch of free software from Microsoft recently, but I'm pretty sure SQL Server was not one of them. I didn't know it was there, until Windows Update offered me an update for it.

How would this happen?  The computer is just a standard desktop PC, with a clean install of Windows 7.

Oh, OK.  One of the free programs was Office Accounting Professional 2008, which apparently requires SQL Server.  Never mindses.  =)

It's going to be SQL Express, with is free anyway.   Not that uncommon (to have a program need that as a back end).
