Quick! Help with corned beef sandwich!
« on: May 12, 2006, 09:43:17 PM »
Ok, so this isn't one of those "I shot a guy entering my house" threads we see on THR or TFL.

Anyway, I have a couple of pounds of deli-sliced corned beef in the 'fridge. Really good and tasty. Thin and sweet.

Problem is, all of our bread is gone (I'm talking rye bread, Strings, not money. You really got to get a handle on the blues Wink ).

So, I'm looking for recipe suggestions. Corned beef and pastrami? Corned beef and beef? Corned beef and whatever?

At exactly 20:00 hours tomorrow, my wife is going to ask me what we're going to do with all this corned beef.

Help!

Uh, cabbage?

So...  if all the bread is gone...  but you have money...  Monkey, you might have missed this in school, but money can be exchanged for goods and services.  Ten dollars can buy many slices of rye bread.

Corned Beef on Rye, with homemade horseradish, crisp homemade pickles , chips, and tea.

Basically - you blew it. Smiley

Azrael256 is correct with the "another" proper way to way to "appreciate" Corned Beef - Cabbage.

Then again you do have deli sliced Corned Beef  and MY recipe for Corned Beef and Cabbage ...really good too... I bet you have no cabbage, so if having to go to store anyway - do the proper thing and get the Rye bread.

How are you fixed for doing Corned Beef served with Asparagus?

Artichokes?  Broiled Tomatos? ...oh my, that bad huh? I suggest you invite Us all over and we will bring the Rye Bread. No invvite huh?  humm...how about:

Corned Beef and Eggs Benedict
Corned Beef and Poached Eggs
Corned Beef and Country Fried 'Taters,
Corned Beef and  Hash...

Bisquick and make your own Biscuits...*sigh*

Well hell, there is always : Corned Beef with Saltines found in console of vehicle ...

Speaking of bisquick. There's a thing on the box where it tells you to put baking powder and lemon juice in with your pancake batter. TRY that sometime!

Yum, corned beef and cabbage!  You'll need the grease from something (too bad you didn't cook your own corned beef) and fry that cabbage up...with some salt and red pepper.  Man, it don't get any better.
