I want Hyundai and Kia stock. But the timing...
« on: November 24, 2010, 02:18:25 PM »
If anyone hasn't noticed, Hyundai and Kia are making big design and some performances changes through their entire lineups. And personally, I like what I'm seeing. I'm convinced they're going to take off.

Hyundai:
Accent
Accent Hatchback
Elantra (redesign)
Elantra Touring
Sonata (redesign)
Azera
Genesis Coupe
Genesis Sedan
Equus
Tuscon (redesign)
Santa Fe
Verzcruz

Kia:
Rio
Rio5
Forte Sedan
Forte Koup
Soul
Optima (redesign)
Sportage (redesign)
Sorento (redesign)
Sedona

And both companies are making some models available as hybrids.

Buuut, could NK have an impact with their recent instigations and seeming eagerness to get dumber?

On top of which, you'd have The Donald all over your ass for supporting them.

He was "interviewed" on Fox & Friends this AM about his possible run for Preesident in 2012 and he came down hard on South Korea for not signing a trade agreement favorable to the USA.  He says SK is "kiling us" economically and suggested that the appropriate response to the current military threat would be to dangle trade terms before announcing any commitment to back them up in any conflict with the Norks and/or PRC.

Can you say "isolationism", boys and girls?

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Hey you kids!! Get off my lawn!!!

They keep making this eternal vigilance thing harder and harder.  Protecting the 2nd amendment is like playing PACMAN - there's no pause button so you can go to the bathroom.

So they're pulling the Rondo from the US market?  My wife drives an '07 Rondo.  Nice little crossover, tons of usable space relative to its overall size.  A shame it didn't do better in the US market.

Easy solution:

Don't want the stock.

Obviously not as great an investment as your initial instinct is telling you.

Yeah, I agree, the numbers I see on the road tell me they've made the cross-over from the "cheap foreign brand" to "just another brand" like Honda, Nissan(Datsun), and Toyota did in the late 70's to early 80's.

GM antipathy in red-states, and having lower price points in a down economy does not hurt either.
I promise not to duck.

When I bought my 2011 Kia Soul, I looked long and hard for a used Rondo.  I liked them for the same reasons you do.  I just could not find any for sale in Washington that I liked.  Apparently people like to hold onto them.
