Was in a jam a while back and my only option was ankle carry...and all my smallest guns were not in suitable condition for carry.
I gave my wife's Springer OACP clone in 9mm the hairy eyeball and tried it out in one of my three ankle carry rigs, the DeSantis stretchy one with the fake fur on the inside. Well, whaddaya know, it fit in the holster and looked fine when I wore my western boots (Redwing steel-toe ropers) and loose-fit cotton khaki pants. I later found I can get away with that rig in my logging boots and also with loose-fit jeans.
A week or so later, I was wearing baggy cargo shorts and I thought, "Maybe the OACP will work pocket carry, too?" In a Galco horsehide pocket holster for a Walther PPK, it will.
I looked at the Galco page and they make an Ankle Glove ankle holster for the Defender 1911 (3" bbl). It looks a little more secure for C&L carry. I suppose I can get by with what I have.
It is nice to have the option, as I prefer the 1911 manual of arms.
