"Monster snowstorms still spell global warming"
http://www.cnn.com/2011/OPINION/01/27/kaku.snowstorms.global.warming/index.htmlI'm in my seventh decade. When I was a kid, we had snow like this almost every year. Back then, we called it "Winter." Now, suddenly,
snow is caused by ... global warming.
In (I think) 1979, there was a monster blizzard that closed the state of Connecticut for three or four days. Cars were simply abandoned on the Interstates because they couldn't even make it to an exit. They brought in a National Guard (or Army Reserve) Combat Engineer battalion from Texas with heavy equipment to help Connecticut dig out.
In 1979, it was called "Winter." Now, we have storms of less intensity that deliver less snow, but because it's more snow than
last Winter, it's a major crisis. And, of course, the cause is ... global warming.
I must be dumber than I even realized. When it's hotter than I remember it being in Summer, the cause is "global warming." And when it's colder and snowier than anyone can remember (that means more than two years) in Winter, the cause is also "global warming." I can't quite figure out how that works.
I also can't quite figure out what Physics has to do with weather. I was a Physics major in college. One thing we did NOT study or experiment with in Physics (classes or labs) was ... weather.
