nice lil piece on him  calls him an empty suit
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

An empty suit fits him.

He's a Massachusetts conservative.  'Nuff said.

Blue-blood country club conservatism isn't going to fix our deficit.

This.  If Romney is candidate in 2012 I very well may give up and concede.

Romney epitomizes what is wrong with the republican party.  I don't buy the "he created jobs" schtik.  He is an establishment republican who may very well be the nominee simply because it is his turn.  That is how we got Bob Dole and John McCain.

If he wins the nomination, he'll likely lose the election. 4 more years of a neutered obama, who can't accomplish much....

The reward possibly being a PROPER republican for 2016?

I dunno. We'll see how it plays out.

Fairly or unfairly he will be tagged as a plutocratic wheeler-dealer completely out of touch with the masses.  He may be the best economic mechanic around, but he's become awfully rich doing it.  Too rich, I'd say, to sit well with the broad swath of people who'd need to vote for him if he's to win.  RomneyCare will not be his worst liability.

This.

A Romney or Huckabee or McCain GOP nomination will result in a formal Tea Party.  Probably with a Tea Party candidate for 2012 that will "spoil" the GOP and split the vote 45/30/25 for the Obama ticket, but result in a strong 2012 break-up of the House into 3 parties (which we need) and a strong showing for a 2016 POTUS race to put the GOP into its coffin and drive a stake into it.

And I'm 100% okay with that.

If they keep lobbing Rudy McRomney at us, I'm gonna keep bludgeoning it and calling a turd when I see one.

Romney's current talk doesn't square with his prior actions - I see him as just another RINO, a member of what I've come to see as Republican Patricians, who believe it's their birthright to run the party.
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

For years pundits have said the best chance for change (sorry, can't think of a better term) in the republican party comes from domination of the primary process.  Last election shows how effective the advice is.  That said, I am now seeing articles reporting a number of states are considering a change from primaries to caucuses to save money.  One would expect a caucus would be easier to control than a primary given sufficient organization.
