Commodore re-launching the Commodore 64

They're probably only 3-4 years behind realizing that 64-bit computing at the desktop is a reality, and capitalizing on their trademark name in this new age of "64"... =D

It's x86/x64 based and runs linux, though it can have Windows put on if you like.  Also has an 8-bit Commodore OS emulator installed with the old Commodore 64 software library available.

They're also threatening to relaunch the Amiga.

I'm waiting with baited breath for Atari to jump back into the fray.

I wonder if any of my old Amiga software disks are still viable. I had some games that I really enjoyed.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

I had an Atari ST, back in the day.  A year or 4 back I found a ROM file and fired up an emulator.  Eh.  I'll pass.

My first home PC was an Atari 130 XE - twice the RAM of the C64 and a processor that, IIRC, ran at 2 MHZ rather than 1 MHZ.

Had a workable spreadsheet and word processor, and took cartridge games like Kampfgruppe, Gyruss, and others.
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

  • It's not the years, it's the mileage.

If it doesn't have a SID chip, I'm not interested.
