No real good for the movement.  They need to be protesting obama and the Republicrat spending and policies.  Do you have a link to the story?

But, they aren't going to do a protest at the Nation of Islam.

Apparently, Wisdom (in the form of a "scheduling conflict") overcame them.

Or maybe the Wisdom came to them in the form of the New Black Panther Party for Self Defense's statement that they would be present to protect the Nation of Islam Center.

Wisdom acts in strange and mysterious ways.

However, I agree that the idea itself, whether they had actually demonstrated or not, is symptomatic of developing future problems.

you are kinder than i.  my first thought was what numbnuts came up with this idea?  and why wasn't he slapped down hard?
it was such a bad idea i almost look for an agent provocateur behind it.
it fails on several levels not the least of which is associating noi with radical islam.

Farrakhan & his motley crew certainly merit protests, but I see absolutely no upside for the Tea Party in staging such. They need to keep their focus on spending, taxing, and the disasterous economic policies of the Feds, as well as keep squish republican and RINO feet to the fire.
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

protests increase his power bse and give him credibility.  he needs to be ignored. the dimwit who squatted this plan played right into the "tea party racists" label that they keep trying to slap on them.  the tea party might wanna clean house a bit.  its almost as lame as the liberty dollars.

It's impolitic, but maybe they got tired of being called racists by racists?

One thing to keep in mind is that there is no central organization to the "Tea Party". It's still all pretty grass roots activisim, or at least very local in nature. There's several .orgs that have a national presence now and act as quasi clearing houses, but they don't speak for anyone.

So if one local Tea Party group wants to do something as boneheaded as protest a mosque, it does not really mean anything about any other Tea Party groups in other states, or even in other nearby cities. (And as noted, they reconsidered too...)

Judging by how recent polls say 70% +/- of self-described Tea Party "members" don't want to see any Medicare cuts, it seems to me that being "Tea Party" does not even mean what the Right thinks it means either, much less the Left's knee-jerk racism mantra.  :P
I promise not to duck.

Basically any group of 2 or more can assemble, call themselves a Tea Party, alert the press to their intended act of monumental idiocy and successfully feed the lamestream media ammunition to label the entire national tea party movement as a bunch of crackpot racists.

failure to call out the group in question will be seen as approval.  and has consequences. i always wonder why the followers of ron paul allowed that moron to mint/sell/pass "liberty dollars".  it was not their finest moment
