The dog is holding the flag, as best it can, by the pole on Memorial Day, it isn't eating the flag.  Think of "dog with its owner watching a parade".

Oh, I know it is well-intended. But I don't care how it holds it, the flag deserves more respect than that. I'm not over-reacting, thanks, just objecting.
