Wrong Hitchens.

Peter Hitchens: Brit conservative & Christian

Christopher Hitchens(0): Brit trotskyite(1) & atheist about to meet his Maker.

They are brothers.

(0) Named "Christopher," but denies Christ.  Funny stuff, that.

(1)  This particular flavor of trotskyism was/is too cute by half.  Essentially, the ideology & org position amounted to, "Everything that Trotsky believed, wrote, and did, except for the mean murderous stuff.  We disavow all that mess."

Is Christopher Hitchens dying?   I think he's about 60.

Throat cancer.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

I gotta remember this line from the original article:

Quote
As Dr Williams has decided to take up political commentating, I think I shall do a little bit of Archbishoping.

Is being in the British Royal Family working?    They receive a ton of taxpayer dollars.

They are the titular heads of State of the United Kingdom.

They are LEGALLY empowered to unseat the prime minister and dismiss parlaiment, and call for a reformation of government.  I expect that they do their homework in regards to that issue.

This is the lawful government currently in place in the UK.

I fail to understand your snark in regards to the lawful governance of Great Britain.
"But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain - that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist."
