Adele

Interesting newer singer. I kind of like her stuff. The Mrs. came home with her latest Cd - 21 a few days ago.

Puts me in mind a little of Carole King.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

She's a good performer, that's for sure.

I think her best rendition of 'Someone like you' is the one that she sang at the Brit Awards.

Same here. Much better than the usual Harry Chapin or musical soundtracks. Or Katie Melua, who sounds like she's singing in a musical.

I have that CD. "Rolling in the Deep" is a great song. It really showcases her singing ability.

The YewToober comments complaining that she's too heavy and "ugly" are pissing me off...

The 'tubers haven't a clue.  She's a good looking lady with a voice to match.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

Alright, but if anybody starts doing a track-by-track analysis of the underlying meaning of her work I'm gonna ask Jamis to bring down the banhammer again.

My wife likes her. I think she sounds like Alison Moyet from the 80's.

Something of a hate figure over here now, after she made the mistake of complaining that she was overtaxed.

Well hell, she'd fit right in here. Somebody send her an invite.

Funny thing, she seems to have actual talent, and not some over-produced hack who looks good in a tight skirt and had to have her voice modified by some computer geek with a good program.

FWIW, there are plenty of prettier (or at least slender and moderately attractive) women, with talent, that get less recognition than Adele. Whatever that may mean.

Folks haven't seen that in quite some time.  No wonder they're confused
