TSA actually does its job?

http://news.yahoo.com/tsa-finds-13-knives-carry-dc-area-airport-172625356.html

Amr Gamal Shedid was stopped from boarding his flight when they found 13 knives in his carry-on bag.  he claims to be a knife collector!  i am curious if there were 12 other vacant seats on that plane.  unfortunatly, i can't find whether he is being held or not?

not to hijack my own thread, but in the story they use the knife equivalents of AK and uzi. (the reporters audience shudders in fear)

Project Knife Flyer?
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

And if he put them in his checked luggage he would not even have needed to declare them.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Yeah, but that would cost an extra $25  ;)

And the knives wouldn't still be in the luggage when he picked it up from the carousel  =(

If anything, having 13 knives suggests that he wasn't out to hijack anything.

You can hijack a plane just as well with one knife as you can with 13.

Did he have 13 arms ?  Is does he get excitable as to choice?

I think a more accurate thread title would be "TSA Actually Stops More Than Just Nail Clippers For Once."

See, they could have just taken that one away and let him keep the other 12
