Tandberg ITV Software update

Any of you familiar with the Tandberg 880 video-conferencing system?

I have to update the software but can't seem to get the ftp function operating properly. It's almost as though ftp has been disabled.

And, of course, we've had it for years, so no tech support is available - without paying. Cisco now owns Tandberg. We have SmartNet on lots of stuff but not this device.

I run Polycom VC hardware

can you get into the TBs admin page via a web interface?

2. Protection method
To prevent unauthorized upgrades, a protection method has been implemented.
In order to upload new software, two parameters are necessary.

One is the unit’s hardware serial number and the other is a valid release key

Before a software upgrade can take place, please do the following:
3.1 Obtain the Videoconferencing System Hardware Serial Number
The hardware serial number can be obtained from the Diagnostics Menu (System info) or through the data port commands.
3.2 Advise your TANDBERG representative
Inform your TANDBERG representative of the delivery address and the serial number on the Videoconferencing unit when ordering your upgrade kit.
3.3 Receipt of the upgrade kit
An upgrade kit will be sent to the delivery address specified by the distributor. The software kit contains a CD-ROM with the software, a program to upload the software and a release key.
NOTE: If there is no service agreement for the Videoconferencing unit TANDBERG will not send out an upgrade kit without first having received a purchase order.


Before using FTP a few important notes should be mentioned: •   The Videoconferencing unit must have at least software version A1.03 or C3.08
installed before upgrading over LAN is possible. Otherwise the software must be
uploaded according to the description in chapter 7 . •   The Videoconferencing unit must be connected to a LAN and configured correctly.
