Somebody kill me
« on: December 09, 2011, 05:21:31 PM »
This afternoon I am manually migrating DNS on 200+ domains to a new host and there is no import process.  Copy Paste,  Copy Paste, Copy Paste....

I'd delegate but my options in that regard right now do not include anybody who knows DNS at all and I want a reality check on the records as we move them.

I'm in the D's

At some point you want to hook up a midi interface to your keyboard and play a tempo on a drum kit

I had a 4 step process for 600 images that would not be script able and after an hour of trying I went into carple tunnel hell and just keyboarded the process one by one

Hey, I know a guy that knows a guy...
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

If you're still in the mood, I'll kill you. Just because you started yet another geek thread and you got one more comment on yours than I did on mine and neither of us really got any answers. Mine was on some of the tech aspects of setting up a blog, which I know at least a handful of folks on here know how to do (but I'll be nice and not name names, mostly because I can't remember).

But the real point here is, would you prefer a shot to the head or to the chest?

I'm lucky if I type into my blog.  I named it and started typing. That's it.  It took me a while to learn  how to post pictures.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

What I've been doing all year is even worse but I can't talk about it.  =(

It does pay well though.

Is this thread going to get shut down for discussing illegal, yet satisfying, activities too?....  =|

We could just beat him for a while, then he would feel so much better when we stopped

I needed a mod to change my signature because the concept of "family friendly" eludes me.
Just noticed that a mod changed my signature. How long ago was that?

The hell of it was it was my idea and I AM the manager.  My higher end techs (network admins and engineers) were all out being billable and the lower end ones are not ready for this type of work (bench techs).

My first thought was...hmmm an IT person asking to be killed...it doesn't get any better than that. You guys are just so hard to find in person though. Can you leave me a VM giving me  some cryptic guidance that only you and your ilk understand?

Sorry, you need to speak to our coordinator about that.  Customers are now allowed to initiate communication with the technical staff directly.

If it makes you feel any better, I just had to hold a freaking system engineer's hand (she outranks me in pay and position) while she rebuilt a borked drive on our SQL cluster.

I have reached a conclusion regarding every member of this forum.
I no longer respect any of you. I hope the following offends you as much as this thread has offended me:
You are all awful people. I mean this *expletive deleted*ing seriously.

Hmmm.
Tallpine = Montana (or wherever you are that's equally north and landlocked) and working from home
USN = Navy and typically surrounded by water if all's right with the world.

Splain.

He's holding hands with a female system engineer who makes more money than him.
Am I missing something here? I know that isn't a typically female comment but geesh, the door was open.
