Any water quality experts here?
« on: February 01, 2012, 11:03:39 PM »
Mom asked me the other day when I was home if I thought the water was different. My response Nope.
So they sent it out for testing. 137 ppm arsenic. Holly crap.
I'm waiting for her to scan the whole report and send it to my to see what the taste problem could be but I think the arsenic problem is the more important part.
I wonder how much of that I have drank over the years?
I needed a mod to change my signature because the concept of "family friendly" eludes me.
Just noticed that a mod changed my signature. How long ago was that?

Don't you mean "ppb"?

I have a friend in GA who's a water expert. I'll be happy to PM you his contact info if you'd like. He'd likely be happy to interpret the report for you and offer suggestions.

Since fatal levels of arsenic poisoning occur in the 100ppm range, I would certainly hope he meant ppb.  That's awfully high even for a ppb reading, even.

Yes I meant ppb.
I looked at the report today and there is nothing else in the water besides arsenic. Everyone of the other 30 some compounds was less than detectable. Including the poop test.
So now they need to retest the arsenic to see what type it is. Organic or inorganic. Different treatment for each one.
Most likely going to be the naturally occurring type because there is no industry for 10 miles and never anything in the place before.
