That says anti-violence, not gun violence.  Maybe you should learn the difference...

I think Hawkmoon was being sarcastic. I would also gently point out, from your quote, that the organization is CeaseFire Illinois, which implies a focus on guns.

I can -guarantee- it was sarcasm.

Quick tip for APS reading enjoyment: if someone whose been around awhile posts something where the two possible readings are "they're being sarcastic" or "they are an idiot or anti-gun", it is 99.99% certain it is the former*.

Best to just assume it, in fact.

* - the former of the latter however should be assumed if the long-term poster is fistful  =D

Per DoOT blog, he has a prior DV charge and restraining order yet, in Chicago, still had his FOID and Chicago firearm permit. Only had to surrender them and his firearm this arrest.

That's a Lautenberg violation, wonder who okayed him keeping the permits and gun the first time?

This is not surprising.
Strident anti-gun people are usually anti-gun because they know in their minds that they themselves don't have the mental discipline or stability to be safely left alone with a firearm, so in extension, they believe noone else can be trusted with a firearm either (unless of course, that person is an agent of the all-powerful, benevolent government).

ya gotta wonder.  The anti-guy I listened yammer on about road rage during one set of Illinois hearings was certainly projecting.
