Mother murdered and baby kidnapped in Houston

And the alleged perpetrator is a 30 year old female nurse who was looking to abduct any baby. The mother and her child just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

You know, we see this from time to time in healthcare: a nurse who desperately wants a baby and ends up stealing one from the hospital nursery, abducting the mother and doing a crude C-section, etc.  I am going to predict that the alleged perpetrator is childless and may have been unsuccessful in getting pregnant.

Fun fact: the majority of hospital nurseries are now equipped with what we call Lo-Jack for babies. If you attempt to take a baby off the unit, alarms sound and the doors lock.

One would think fixing the adoption laws in this country would help with these sorts of situations.

According to a radio report she has three kids and told people she wanted a fourth.
This is a very sad story.  The woman is a nutcake who left behind a grieving husband & father.
I guess this woman has some deep mental issues but I really don't care what happens to her.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that any woman who would think it acceptable to murder a woman and steal a baby probably should be barred from adopting a baby.

When Thing 1 was born in 2003, they had that at the hospital.

After our baby was born, her Baby Lo-Jack kept popping loose which set off the "OMG, someone is trying to disable the lo-jack!" alarm.  Thankfully, that isn't the one that locks down the ward, but we did get the nurses running a few times.

Could be. Although it seems like folks are often driven insane by external factors, which might have been prevented. Who knows?

When it comes, to women, hormones and babies, this is very likely.

Had someone picked up on the fact this women may have been losing it, a baby might still have his mother.

According to CBS News, the alleged perpetrator has three children, recently miscarried her fourth and told her fiance that she had delivered his baby. Her plan was to represent the abducted child as her fourth child.

I guess this woman has some deep mental issues but I really don't care what happens to her.

I, on the other hand, care very deeply what happens to her.

I hope her state still has a death penalty.

Texas does....but I bet she wins on the insanity plea....

From what I understand, insanity is difficult to prove in Texas as well.  The bar is set fairly high for that.  I don't know how this can not be premeditated murder.  I thought I heard she contacted someone to handle an adoption soon after.

Any bets as to whether, or not, this was the first clue for her fiance that she was bugnutz.
