Really short version:  Guy buys house.  Guy asks his parents to stop by and change the locks.  Parents stop by to do so.  Neighbor sees two people messing with locks and fumbling with keys.  Calls cops and then he and his son confront the parents, threaten to shoot them and hold them at gunpoint until the cops show up.  Cops show up, pat neighbors on head and arrest parents.   Now parents are free, neighbor and son are being held pending charges of false imprisonment, aggravated assault and criminal trespass.

Hope the cops get in trouble too, for the hassel. How hard is it to check that these people had a legitamate reason for being there?

Yeah....people have to be real careful when doing citizens arrests. Unlike police, you don't get qualified immunity if you *expletive deleted*ck up.

Exactly.  Honestly, it's not worth the potential headache.  If no actual life is in danger themost I'd do is call the cops and watch out my window.
