The
Museum of Transportation at St. Louis has Union Pacific 4006. They let us go inside the cab, and ring the bell, which is rigged up to a cable. I guess it normally operates by electric or steam, or whatever.
They also have one of GM/EMD's FT demonstrator units, that killed the steam engine. Sorry, steam-heads.
We got to go into a passenger car that was used in the Harry Truman movie with Gary Sinise. Right next to it is a Missouri-Pacific Eagle observation car Truman actually rode on, as Vice-President.
They've got an old Panama Canal mule. Also, an old White autobus, that somebody put on railroad trucks and put a cow plow on. The best part is the logo on each side of the engine cowling. Here's a similar one, found on the net.
Worth a stop, if you're out this way. They have a lot automobiles, too.
Here is the Big Boy. I tried to add him as an attachment, but the picture is too big!
