June 14th is National Bourbon Day

I just found out that today is National Bourbon Day. What a great country America is - Flag Day AND Bourbon Day both on the same day!!

USA all the way! Off to make an Old-Fashioned in my patriotic NRA bourbon glass.

Agree completely.  I just drank a bottle of wine.  Not shitfaced by any means, but don't need any more tonight.

Maybe one shot, since it is a holiday.  But with a little advance warning I coulda done a lot better.

Advance warning has been the American way since before we stopped being colonies.  Can you imagine teaching schoolchildren that Paul Revere* rode through the night shouting "The British already passed by  here!"?

I'd already had two glasses of Sangria when he popped the news here.

An Old-Fashioned is to be made with rye, not bourbon. :D

Eh, on bourbon day they're made with bourbon. :P

I actually like using the orange label Bulleit the best for Old-Fashioneds. It's a bourbon rye mix, so you get the best of both worlds.
