math question
« on: July 11, 2012, 03:48:14 PM »
A misunderstood joke at a meeting brought up this question:  Can the number .83 repeat?  As in .838383838383......

I'm sure there's a rule that answers it, but nobody in the room full of nerdy engineering types knew for sure.

Dear Math:

I'm not your mother; solve your own problems.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Hey you kids!! Get off my lawn!!!

I don't understand what you are asking. What do you mean 'can it repeat'?
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

But Y?
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

I completely missed Nick posting the answer as the first reply. I must have been too busy replacing lost fluids from the days heat.
