Is he suggesting that the GOP somehow ordered the TSA to harass Ron?

Probably no more than certain folks "ordered" swat teams to raid the houses of conservatives I'm sure. But I wouldn't be surprised. I don't really surprise anymore.  =|

I hear the TSA had quite a showing at the RNC venue itself. TSA seems to be spreading like Bangkok lice.

Yeah, but you only have to go through that if you want to fly commercial airlines  ;/

Must have been interesting with some of those cosplay outfits ...  some of the ladies leave very little to search, and you can hide a lot in a storm trooper outfit  =D

Are they banning phaser blasters now ?

What I find bizarre is that Ron Paul's common sense on this issue isn't being taken seriously - applying the same laws to the TSA as everyone else is apparently not interesting to congress.
"Human existence being an hallucination containing in itself the secondary hallucinations of day and night (the latter an insanitary condition of the atmosphere due to accretions of black air) it ill becomes any man of sense to be concerned at the illusory approach of the supreme hallucination known as death."

Or, more and more, if you want to use Amtrak, or Greyhound, or your local light-rail...

TSA and mission creep go hand-in-filthy-gloved-hand. It USED to be "If you don't like it, you don't have to fly." As predicted YEARS ago, it really is looking as though it'll end up being, "If you don't like it, you don't have to open your front door."

Ayup.
As much as I like the idea of a free Texas, it was Texas that first had TSA VIPR teams doing random bag searches on the Houston Metro.  True cecession is a wet dream.
