anyone know more about ventura?

is jesse a fraud?   is it a conspiracy? >:D
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

This is the second place I've seen this, and I'm not sure why it's just surfacing now. Look at the date on the story. This is old news.

Ventura is a kook. He's a nutjob. He's either a liar or just crazy, but again, this is WAY old news.

I haven't a clue about Ventura's record, and don't care at all.

I *do* know, though, that Tom Liden, the so-called "journalist" doing the "investigating" should be careful calling anyone a fraud. He comes very close to that line himself. He was busted - and only had his wrist slapped - for stealing a video-tape (I believe) from someone they were "investigating". He's a creep adn a jerk.

No. Discussing Ventura's combat record or possible lack thereof.

I know he's nuts. That's all I really need to know.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

Ventura was UDT, technically not a SEAL at the time (UDT became integrated with the SEALs later in the '80s), and never saw combat. He also got the hell punched out of him by a real SEAL after he told that SEAL, who was attending a funeral wake for a fellow SEAL killed in combat, that he "deserved to lose a few"

I don't know why Ventura claims to be a SEAL and seeing combat, but he does. Becoming a UDT member was certainly no picnic and prestigious in it's own right but Ventura is clearly a tool. Never have like him...

From what I recall UDT began in WW2 from Navy Combat Demolition Units and existed until 1983.  U.S. Navy Seal Teams were commissioned under JFK in 1962-3.  During the period of overlap if you wanted to be a SEAL you had to be UDT because Seal members were drawn from UDT teams and trained up to SEAL standards.
Since the last UDT team was decommissioned in 1983, that no longer remains true.
As for Ventura, I am aware of the controversy but don't know very much about it.  I know there are a lot of posers around who claim they're "ex-SEALS" but have no idea whatsoever about what SEAL teams are or what military life is like.
Ventura strikes me as a narcissistic type who really ought to be on TV selling conspiracy theories ... oh, wait....  think he's been there done that ...... [tinfoil] [popcorn]

He made a successful career in professional wrestling and politics... that should tell you everything you need to know. No BS meter needed.

I do appreciate the questions and subjects he sometimes raises, not the answers he gets at, but the questions.

In Jesse's case, you are certainly talking about a lot of airflow...

I think, from now on, he should be referred to as as Ace reporter Jesse Ventura.

Good work, Ace.
