Birthday present this year
« on: October 08, 2012, 09:06:39 PM »
My birthday falls on election day this year. What would be a great gift? Barack Obama out of office, socialists out of office. Icing on the cake? Sens. Feinstein and Boxer and creepy crony Nancy Pelosi OUT of OFFICE! Hillary GONE. Yeah, I know I said that already, socialists out. There are others, but they need to go first.

That would make my birthday celebration.

I'm not confident we'll know the day of or even the day after the election who won for certain.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

I do hope you get all you want for your birthday!

I'm not confident we'll know the day of or even the day after the election who won for certain.

I'm betting on at least one recount, with the possibility of the courts getting involved.

I have every confidence that, on the day following the election, we will have an unequivocal winner by an indisputable margin.

And, at the same time, I have every confidence that my wife's blood pressure will drop by several points on that day.

Happy birthday, dood.  Prepare to indulge.

Either we will be stuck with four more years of the same failed policy and leadership, or else Obama could be re-elected ...  =|

I say this with love and respect:  I believe we will see something we have not seen in decades.  We will see actual character and morality in the White House.

I have officially parked my customary cynicism for this election.

This one will, in fact, be different.  And if later it turns out I am wrong, I'm buying the coffee and the ammo.

We can't be buying each other coffee, now. Brother Romney wouldn't approve.

If he wins, I too have a minor hunch Mitt is going to be a better POTUS than many on the nominal Right/Libertarian side of things are giving him credit for. Although one will have to wade through an enormous multi-year tidal wave of butthurt MSM coverage to figure this out.

Those are currently on back-order.

Current stock only has SocLite.

Well, that and 120-proof distilled Socialist.

It's called not-voting.  I'm a big advocate for it, this year.

If voter turn-out is below 50% (ideally WELL below 50%) and Romney loses, it will be a good message sent to the national parties.

I'm not too worried about a re-elected Obama.  He won't have Congress behind him at all.  And the courts seem to be handling most of his bureaucratic bullscat okay, with the exception of Obamacare (which Mitt wouldn't fix anyways, and basically admitted to during the last debate).

Is there a tracking mechanism for a situation where a person declines to vote for president but still votes on all the other items on the ballot?  That would be the eye opener more than just a low overall turnout I'd think.

I doubt it, but there should be.

I often don't vote when there is only one person running for a certain office.

There should be a quorum requirment for a election to be valid.

they can track ron paul write-ins.

They only track write-ins of valid candidates.

Paul is not a valid candidate because he has not declared his intent to run independent of the GOP ticket.
