Are there a lot of people trying to smuggle borders?

I hate that the glorified bureaucrat keeps referring to it as "traffic"

It's a mother*expletive deleted*ing incursion, and should be treated as such.

Give the ranchers some crew served weapons and let the problem sort itself out.

I have reached a conclusion regarding every member of this forum.
I no longer respect any of you. I hope the following offends you as much as this thread has offended me:
You are all awful people. I mean this *expletive deleted*ing seriously.

No need to be killing folks.  Though I admit I used to think that way too, Fitz... landmines, border patrol with helicopters with door gunners, etc.  I even volunteered with the Minutemen back in the early 2000's.

It's an easy fix.

See those giant squarish backpacks they're carrying?  That's a marijuana train.  They pay their way to come here by muling pot.  I've seen those same trains myself.

#1 - Legalize pot.  When the high school kids can grow it in the family garden and the worst they have to deal with is mom and dad rolling their eyes in dismay, all the violence and drug trafficking over the stuff disappears.

#2 - Get rid of the welfare programs.  It's not the full incentive they come here for, but it's part of it.  Maybe 25%.

#3 - Get rid of the free pass at the ER.  If you're an illegal and show up at the ER and can't pay for your medical care, you go to jail.  Long enough to screw up your income stream back home (90 days would do it), then deported.

Frankly, those three things would turn us from being a 15 million illegal alien country, to a 5 million illegal alien country.

And probably leave the ones here who are actually hard working people trying to make a decent living for themselves and family and contribute positively to society.

Well, once you actually get some control of the situation, talking about options for amnesty and such becomes easier to manage.

When Reagan granted Amnesty in '86 or '87, it was with the agreement that Washington/the Fed .gov was going to "fix" the problem so that it wouldn't happen again.

They didn't.  Which is why I'm against amnesty until they "fix" the problem.  And demonstrate that it's "fixed" for at least a year before we even talk about  "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" which is the codeword for Amnesty.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.
