Video editing software
« on: January 13, 2013, 01:44:35 PM »
So this year I decided to animate my Christmas lights to music. (yes call me a nut if you want)
I filmed it using a olympus point and shoot camera. I want to add the music to the video. The music is broadcast via a low power fm transmitter so there is noting for the camera to hear.
What software can I use to do this? I don't need something supper complicated. I can't use 90% of photoshop features.
I needed a mod to change my signature because the concept of "family friendly" eludes me.
Just noticed that a mod changed my signature. How long ago was that?

Check out Windows Live Movie Maker MM.  I downloaded it last week to make a simple promo video for a local race.  Images and video clips, add music and voice over.  Despite the lousy reviews MM is great for that.  It doesn't have a lot of complicated or sophisticated features (hence the bad reviews) but for just a video with a music clip it's perfect.

When i searched Microsoft for Windows Live Movie Maker it seams it is not comparable with xp? Any other ideas?

I've seen this link but I'm not familiar with much more than protochop. Which program does video?

Premiere Pro is the video app. It will likely be at a similar level of complexity to Photoshop (never used it myself, so I can't say for sure).

Try Windows Media Maker (Windows XP).  It got lousy reviews but the newer version, Windows Live MM, got lousy reviews as well and I found it pretty usable.  At least for basic tasks.
