Having these fine men, along with others like Travis Haley, Larry Vickers, all of those Sheriff's departments, etc. on our side is great because it counters the "only the police and military should have guns" types.  It should also indicate to the administration that they are going too far, since it's not just us minority serfs who are challenging them now.

"De Oppresso Liber" - straight from the force whose primary task is to help others free themselves from tyranny.  Here is the link to the letter at PS.com:

Never was worried about the Military. The civilian police, that is another story

Abraham Lincoln

With the first link the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably.

Basically this. Aside from flag rank officers (who can be more politician than military), military is generally pro-Constitution, including the 2A.

Civilian Police? Varies.
"Rev, your picture is in my King James Bible, where Paul talks about "inventors of evil."  Yes, I know you'll take that as a compliment."  - Fistful, possibly highest compliment I've ever received.

I suspect the reason for the missive is to counter McChrystal's endorsement of a ban on scarey looking rifles.

- Charles Mackay, Scottish journalist, circa 1841

"Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we're being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I'm liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That's what's insane about it." - John Lennon
